REPORT ON LAVENHAM ART SOCIETY ANNUAL EXHIBITION held in AUGUST 2016

Thank you from the committee to all those members who took part in exhibiting and stewarding year's exhibition which, with the wide range of subject matter, style and medium, is an excellent show case for the hard work and talent of the society members.

32 members submitted 236 pictures in total, 151 framed works were hung and 85 unframed exhibited in browsers.
In all 45 works were sold, 22 framed pictures and 23 unframed. 50% of sales were by credit card, Sadly sales were considerably lower than for some years and the committee will discuss possible reasons for this as it is obviously disappointing Always. having two members stewarding this year eased the administration of sales at the desk, including raffle sales.

The societ ywill donate a proportion of our sales to Lavenham Church for the use of their premises during the exhibition.

Special thanks are due to those non painting members who give so much of their time, especially Rita Lott, our secretary who, with David Smeaden came to the church each evening to help close down and collect the takings. Thanks also to Brian Orton, our treasurer who on numerous occasions came to support support members with the credit card payment system as well as helping at the hand -in and take- down.
